Urban Village Kids

Urban Village Church is a community of people who are here to help support every type of urban family. We want to help you nurture faith development in your children as they embark upon a spiritual journey over a lifetime. We do this by offering a kids’ ministry program that includes Sunday Kids’ Church, social justice activities, special holiday events, family small groups and family day retreats.

Nursery Care

Nursery Care for children ages 3 and younger is provided during every regular Sunday service at all Urban Village locations. Please feel free to drop-off your child before service or at any point during the service. When leaving your child in the nursery, we ask you to sign your child in and  leave a cell phone number should we need to reach you. Please leave your phone on vibrate during the service. When picking up your child please sign your child out. At drop-off each parent will also receive a tag with the name of their child that they will be asked to present at pick-up.

Kids’ Church

Andersonville

At Urban Village-Andersonville, the children’s ministry takes place upstairs just above the larger meeting room at the Bethany Center. Nursery care is provided for children under three-years–please bring your children and their diaper bags upstairs (or up the elevator) just before the service begins.  For children over three, children’s ministry begins after the first set of worship songs. Feel free to walk your children upstairs or send with that day’s teachers.  This is a time for children to experience and learn about God through song, story, and activity. Children are also always welcome to stay in worship.

Downtown

Children’s ministry and nursery care at Urban Village-Downtown takes place on the third floor of the Spertus Center. Nursery and Kids’ Church rooms are to the right as you exit the elevators. Children are in service for the first 15 minutes during which they are welcomed, informed about upcoming events at Urban Village and given the opportunity to sing, move and clap along to the music that opens worship. Children are then accompanied by teachers (and parents if you wish) to the third floor for some kid fellowship, songs, story and activities that will deepen their understanding and relationship with God. After service, parents are asked to come to the Kids’ Church room to pick-up their children. Children are also always welcome to stay in worship.

Wicker Park

Nursery care takes place on the lower level of Wicker Park Lutheran Church. Upon entering the building take the south staircase to the lower level and cross the large fellowship room to the opened nursery door.
Kids’ Church for this location is in the works.
